The main feature of dangerous goods transporting by air is strict requirements for providing transportation safety. For example, it is forbidden to transport dangerous goods of some classes by passenger aircrafts because of high risk of inflammation, explosion etc. While preparing the transportation of dangerous goods by air it is very important to compile all documentation, including shipping instructions, properly, because the flight safety depends on it, not only safety of the cargo. The airlines reserve the right to reject in dangerous goods transporting following their internal instructions. Nevertheless the transportation of dangerous goods by air is a very popular service as it is the fastest and the most secure way of delivery.
Our new customer requested us for transportation by air a consignment of ethylene oxide from London to Moscow. Ethylene oxide is a gas which is used in producing of disinfectants and antibacterial agents, e.g. for medical sterilizers. This substance is defined as UN hazard class 2, subclasses 2.1 and 2.3 – flammable toxic gas according to the ICAO/IATA classification. In order to transport this cargo, it was necessary to use a special air container in which fibreboard cartons with cartridges of ethylene oxide were placed. There were provided certain temperature conditions in a cargo bay.
Due to properly prepared documentation, detailed shipping instructions and accurate work of Delivery World’s logistic staff and cargo-coordinators of airlines the dangerous cargo arrived on time and without incidents.Back to news list
